Archiving old e-mails/jobs

  1. In your Outlook click on File, Open & Export

  1. Pick Import & Export



    3. Chose Export to a file


    4. Next chose Outlook Data File .pst. File should not be larger then 5 Gb’s


    5. Pick which folder you want to archive and make sure “Include subfolders” is selected.



    6. Browse to network location where you want to save it. If you are working remotely save it to your desktop. Then copy to network location preferably during off hours or ask IT Department for assistance.



    7.Default options are okay.



    8.Leave the password screen blank and click ok



    9.When done, verify the file is there and it’s size. The single PST file should not be larger then 5 Gigabytes. Make sure you can open the file before deleting folders from your email.


    10.Next step you can delete that folder from your Outlook and empty Deleted Items.
